Our consultants conducted the “Rapid assessment of the provision of HIV, SRHR and GBV services at health facilities and communities during COVID-19 pandemic in the East and Southern African region” commissioned and funded by the World Health Organisation. The assessment covered South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe between 2021 and 2022.

Our consultants led the drafting of the “Process and outcome evaluation of different intervention models aimed at changing inequitable gender norms and attitudes towards violence against women and girls in Lesotho, Jan 2020-Sept 2021”.

Our consultants participated in the project on “Developing and evaluating standardised data collection tools to ensure quality and comparability of SRHR data: a pilot in selected Eastern Europe and Central Asian (EECA) countries” between December 2019 – December 2020. 

Our consultants provided technical assistance on research and data analysis on prevention of and response to gender-based violence prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Zimbabwe between 2020 and 2021.

Our consultants participated in the Academic Network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Policy-initiated survey called the ISHARE study. ISHARE  is an international survey on sexual and reproductive health and rights during COVID-19. Besides participating in the proposal development, design and analysis of data, our consultants led the survey in South Africa. 

CEPHIA consultants participated in a 2-year COVID-19 Africa Rapid Grant Fund (9/2020-12/2022) funded by DFID/ IDRC/ NRF/ DFG/ SIDA/ UKRI to assess Southern African governments’ preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic and impact on sexual and reproductive health, HIV and gender-based violence. The grant provided an opportunity to work with Ministries of Health in Southern Africa on Health systems strengthening using the WHO model for COVID-19 pandemic response and preparedness.
